20/20 Presentation: All Slides (Task7)
20/20 presentation:
'London in maps' featuring the oldest and the most recent maps of London in different styles and media.
I have always found maps interesting and fascinating as they describe the place and tell the story behind it: about the author, about people, about the city and its history, development, and trends.
Each map can take hours to examine, and go through all the streets and districts.
See more slides, as well as some of the full-size maps, at a jump:

TubeTalk Kiosk Sketch
I roughly sketched how the Tubetalk pins kiosk should look like.
1. It should have boxes with different colours on the side for pins of correspondent colour and interest;
2. It should have a table for commuters to be able to customize the pins with a comfort;
3. It should have free pens/markers, so the commuters have something to write their text on the pins with (markers probably attached to the table);
4. It should have an explanation poster, so the commuters know the idea of the campaign, know which the meaning of the colours etc.
Poster can also call for the commuters to join the campaign;
5. It might also have the 'I found it!' board, where the commuters will attach their pin after they have found what they were looking for or if their 'tube talk pin' journey was resultative.
_______________
There also might be some volunteers involved, standing next to the kiosk and helping people know more about the campaign, as well as trying to attract more people to join in.

Business Name and Identity
Here I gave 3 potential names for my business, which were MAP DESIGNS, WITH YOU DESIGN and KUCHERENKO STUDIO.
I did a survey on how people like these names, and found out that most of them think Map Designs sounds a bit limited, and With You Design - a bit irrelevant.
Thus I decided to go with Kucherenko Studio.
When designing a logo, I decided to keep 'A' for Anastasiia, and turn it 90 degrees, so together with the lastname it would remind a pencil.
If use the negative space from an 'A' it would remind more of a pencil.
I played more with the shape and created a nib, which represents vector graphics.

Inspiring designer: William Morris (Task1)
In this post I would like to share work of William Morris.
I love patterns, and find William Morris the most extraordinary pattern designer ever. All his patterns are harmonious, and it explains their over a hundred years success.
The way he fills in space with floral elements and ornaments makes me look at the patterns over and over again. Learn more at a jump:
